652 Students Shortlisted in CT Mega Job Fest’10

Continuing the legacy of providing employment opportunities to students, not only from CT Group of Institutions, but also from other colleges, CT Group of Institutions, Jalandhar organized a Mega Job Fest at its Shahpur Campus in Jalandhar. 652 students from different streams were shortlisted for various positions in the companies. The salary offered to the students ranged from Rs. 1.5 Lacs to 3.5 Lacs. A total of 6000 students appeared in the job fair over the two days. This included students from CT Group, from colleges in Punjab as well as from various colleges in Haryana. There were 30 companies from diverse sectors to recruit students. This is worth mentioning that CT Group of Institutions had organized 7 Job Fests in the past and Mega Job Fest 2010 was the eighth. CT Group has organized these fair on its campus as well as in Bihar and J&K.



The first day witnessed a good turnaround of students with numbers of participants reaching 4000. The number of companies on the first day of the fair was 25. Students from MBA, MCA,PGDM ,B.Tech, ,  BBA, BCA, Diploma in Engineeering,  Hotel Management , B.Sc Biotechnology, B.Pharma and other disciplines participated in the event. Some of the top recruiters included, HDFC Bank, Coca Cola, Neuron Software, Kapsons, Hindustan Hydraulics, Softobiz, Radio Mantra, Sarover Group, Kayako Infotech, Altruist, Artworld Web Solutions, ING Vysya Bank, HCL Bserv, Wipro BPO, Century Group and Tradeindia. These companies had different placement processes. Some companies did the initial screening by studying the CVs of the students and inviting them for the interview.  There were others who had a comprehensive process including written test followed by a group discussion and personal interview. On the second day 7 additional companies were present. These were Lupin Pharma,  Inizer, BMA Wealth Advisors, Omega, Karvy, Blue Heaven Securities  and Indiamart The footfall of the students on the second day was more than 2000.



The students showed full enthusiasm to participate in the interviews and were happy on getting shortlisted for various positions. CT Group, in association with agencies like Aspire set up different help desks for 3 consecutive days prior to the event. These help desks provided individual solutions to different students for preparing for the interviews. This included general guidance, interview related questions and industry specific information for the candidates aspiring to appear in the interviews. Since the choice of companies for a student was multiple, students were able to set up the priorities as to how they should plan the day. Since there was no restriction on the number of interviews a candidate could take, some candidates were able to get themselves selected in more than one company.
