CT Group organizes National Seminar on Hospitality
 

In order to maintain a closed and regular interaction with the industry as well as academia to discuss the emerging issues and escalation of hotel industry, CT Institute of Hotel Management organized a national seminar on “Understanding the requirements of training at entry level in the Hospitality Industry” in its Shahpur Campus. The objective of the seminar was to emphasize and highlight the needs and necessities of the training of the hospitality students in hotels and travel agencies.


The eminent speakers for this seminar were the renowned and top level hospitality professionals who explored topics like organization culture, organization policies and loyalty, team spirit and healthy work environment in hospitality industry. Hospitality sector is growing at a very fast rate about 8% in
India. This sector includes hotel industry, travel & tourism, restaurants, pubs, clubs and bars, contract catering and aviation etc. The key speakers of the seminar arrived from all parts of the county like Delhi, Bangalore, Kolkata and Amritsar from the high rated Hotel groups like The Carlson, The Ista, The White Lotus, The Orchid etc and adding an additional flavor of nationalism to the seminar.

Mr. Shrirup Choudhury, General Manager, Club Cabana Orchid was the chief guest of the event. He enlightened the gathering with his knowledge and experience. He guided that the salary expectations should be realistic He further added that while starting a career, wrap work must be done.

Mr. Harpreet Singh, Corporate Training Manager, Carlson Hotels (
South Asia) urged the gathering to keep themselves abreast of the latest happenings. He stressed the importance of utilization of every minute in the college campus for honing their skills to get the ladder of success.

Mr. Shantanu Chowdhary, CEO, White Lotus Hospitality is a multi-faceted Hotelier and a visionary to run the Numero- Uno Hotel Management and marketing organization. In this seminar he stated that students should work and improve their technical skills, soft skills and communication skills. The students should consider the quality while starting the career.

While addressing the students S. Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman, CT Group stated that an employee is judged by his management, by the number of tasks performed while meeting deadlines. Hotel Industry is looking for competent professionals who can play multi-faced roles for their organization. He added that efforts should be made to improve personality by dressing up properly and possessing adequate knowledge of the subject and area in which they wanted to excel.
