CT Half Marathon – A Spectacular Success


The 4th CT Half Marathon organized by CT Group of Institutions reached its destination successfully amidst a wave of euphoria. Thousands thronged in this race for charity. The Marathon was a mixed flavor of Nationalism and Internationalism as the leading Pakistani Band  joined hands with the sensational  Harbhajan Mann, ‘Dancing Machine’ Diljit Dosanjh, the gorgeous Pooja Tandon, Comedians Bhotu Shah and Kake Shah , the beautiful Miss World Punjaban Japji Khaira & Gaurav Kakkar to  make this mammoth event a huge success. 
This race for charity was inaugurated by the Legendary Punjabi Singer and Actor Harbhajan Mann, famous Punjabi Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh, Pooja Tandon, Japji Khaira, Gaurav Kakkar along with S.Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman, CT Group of Institutions, co-chairperson Mrs.Parminder Kaur, Mr.Manbir Singh, Managing Director, Mrs.Tanika Channi, Mr.Harpreet Singh, Director, Administration from CT fraternity, by flagging off the race in CT Shahpur Campus at 6.30 A.M.
The objective of this race was to raise funds for the organizations that work for the deprived members of society such as Pingalwara, Red Cross, Apahaj Ashram and other non government organizations. The event was enthused with emotional haze as Harbhajan Mann and Diljit Dosanjh with their songs motivated and urged runners to participate in this race with full enthusiasm. The whole atmosphere resonated with exuberance and vibrance of Punjab and Punjabiat.The marathon got attention of renowned industrialists, politicians, professionals, Doctors, Engineers, Employees of private and government organization and all the sections of the society. 
This marathon of mammoth magnitude started from CT Shahpur campus and finished at CT Maqsudan by covering various places in the city such as Dulhan Palace Urban Estate, Cool Road, Aggarwal Dhaba, Masand Chowk, Mission Chowk, Nakodar Chowk, Football Chowk, Workshop Chowk, DAV College, CT Group of Institutions Maqsudan. Throughout the route there were a number of counters for energy drinks, water, fruits and medical assistance for the runners. It looked that Jalandhar has become one big family and is enveloping everyone in its magnanimous folds. There were stalls of music and DJ’s on the way that formed the patriotic environment for runners and forced them to cheer for their mother land.
The event concluded the same way it started. At the closing ceremony, leading Pakistani band comprising of Shajar Abbas, Fakhar Abbas along with team members enthralled the audience with their melodious number ‘Azma le’ and Dosti thus blurring boundaries by the common thread of fraternity., Bhotu Shah Ji and Kake Shah Ji, Miss World Punjaban Japji Khaira contributed their presence for this race of charity and praised the winners. 
As a step towards social inclusion students of ‘PRAYAS’ participated in the 100m race at Maqsudan Campus. There were lot of smiles and enthusiasm to be seen on the faces of mentally disabled. The crowd was cheering them up to boost their morale. All the participants of race for mentally disabled were awarded prizes and certificates of appreciation. 
The crowd welcomed and cheered as Mr. S.R. Laddhar, Commissioner and Mr. Sarabjeet S.Makkar, MLA along with S.Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman, CT Group gave away the prizes to the prize winners the list of which is given below:

In order to boost up the sportsman spirit free T – shirts were given to all the participants. It was a remarkable day fill with fun and jubilation. Runners were entertained at each destination with water, fruits, glucose also they were cheered by the students of the college. The participants were fully satisfied with the facilities like security, medical aid and other arrangements. Traffic police did a commendable task to control the traffic for the smooth conduct of the race. District Medical department extended their full support on the entire marathon for first aid and Para medical assistance.
 
S.  Charanjit Singh Channi. Chairman, CT Group of Institutions congratulated the prize winners and thanked all present. He said that an event of such magnitude could only be possible by the whole hearted cooperation of Politicians, industrialists, media, corporate Houses, NGO’s, staff and the students who had all contributed in their own way to make this event a success.
Mr.Manbir Singh, Managing Director said that he was overwhelmed at the response Jalandharites had shown them. He expressed his gratitude towards one and all and said that it was their joint effort that had today made the marathon bridge national boundaries and blur international barriers.
Mr.Harpreet Singh, Director, Administration said that CT Group of Institutions would continue the saga of inclusion and philanthropy in times to come…
