"An innovation to deal with increasing petrol price"
Diesel Turbo Bike (Diesel-Demon)
Diesel Turbo Bike (Diesel-Demon)
Young and growing India is basically an oil importing country. It faces a huge problem of increasing fuel, especially petrol prices. This problem of hike in the oil prices affects all the corners of society, specially the middle class society. The final year students of CT Polytechnic department have invented a diesel powered motorbike, to deal with this prevalent problem.

CTians got this idea to invent a diesel bike is because the hike in the oil prices were snubbing their desire to buy a petrol bike. The solution to this was a diesel 525cc turbo empowered air cooled engine which will give them stability at high speed with comfort of a cruiser.

The first task for these budding inventors was to find a diesel engine of symmetric shape & size that could be mounted on existing frame and gear box of bullet standard. After procuring the engine and suitable alteration of crankshaft and Bore & stroke lengths the engine is then mated to gear box. The fuel injection system has also been redesigned. To utilize the full power of D-ENGINE a turbo procured from TATA Indica V2 did the wonderful job the bhp is increased upto 18ps.By redirecting exhaust system manifold to accommodate the turbo unit installation was somewhat a tedious job. To cope up this difficulty the exhaust manifold had been rotated at some degree and the rpm of turbine also matched with exhaust thrust along with lubrication circulation unit. The bike turns up amazing mileage of 70plus on highways. The multi reflector headlamp added the safety by producing wide beam of illumination in the dark. The maximum speed of the motorbike is around 75-80km/hr.

The students who did this wonder are Baljinder Kumar, Gurinder Singh, Harjit Singh Syan, Parmvir Singh, Jaskirat Singh, Arwinderjit Singh and Lakhvir Singh.
S. Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman CT Group was elated at the achievement of the students. He emphasized that it is the attitude of students that marks their altitude of success and at CT the students are nurtured throughout to mould their attitude in right direction.
