'Hunar Se rozgar'

CT Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology Maqsudan, Jalandhar saw the successful completion of ‘Hunar Se Rozgar’ - A free Hospitality Training Programme’ of eight weeks duration. Sh. Hira Singh Gabaria, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Punjab Govt. and Mr. S.P. Bajaj, Deputy Director, Deptt. Of Tourism, Punjab graced the occasion by giving away certificates and stipend of Rs. 2000/- each to all the twenty seven candidates who had completed this training program in the institute.


Welcoming the Chief Guest Sh. Gabaria and Guest of Honour Mr. Bajaj, Dr. Ashwani Kansra, Director, CT Group of Institutions said that this programme being run under the Capacity Building Scheme of Ministry of Tourism, Govt. of India aims at developing employable skills at state level among those students who look for better job opportunities in the hospitality sector. Besides undergoing training under this program, the candidates also get stipend for the period they undergo training under the scheme, further said Dr. Kansra.

 

While distributing certificates to the students, the Minister reiterated the commitment of Punjab Govt. to keep continuing with such initiatives in future also so that practical skills relating to Hospitality sector could be provided to the unemployed rural youth of this area. He further appreciated the contribution of CT Group of Institutions in conducting this programme and regarded it as a service to society in general and to the Nation as a whole in particular.
 
On this occasion, Deputy Director Sh. Surinder Bajaj also shared about the similar future job oriented programmes and schemes of the Deptt. of Tourism, Punjab Govt. and conveyed his felicitations to all those students who had completed this course and have started their own services like providing tiffin to PG students and others.
 


Chairman, S. Charanjit Singh Channi extended a warm welcome to the minister in and shared that we are going to start another batch of students under the same program shortly. He assured the minister to extend all the help to provide employment opportunities to the unemployed rural youth of Punjab .
 

S. Paramjit Singh, Vice President (Hotel & Restaurants Association of Northern India), Dr. Ashwani Kansra, Director, Mr. Abhijit Mukherjee, Director, Prof. Deepak Paul and all the faculty members were present on the occasion.
