National Seminar on Drug Discovery and Networking
CT Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CTIPS) organized its next series of one day “National Seminar on Drug Discovery and Networking” on Friday, 26th August, 2011.
S. Charanjeet Singh Channi Chairman, CT group of Institutions presided over the programme with his addressing note to the dignitaries and also to all the delegates who have assembled for the seminar. He appreciated the subject of the seminar and advised for wholehearted contribution from CTIPS family.
Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma, Director –CTIPS welcomed the delegates and the resource dignities and shared his words of gratitude towards development and discovery of newer molecules from the indigenous resources.
Dr. Manoj Kumar, Group Director CT Group of Institutions congratulated the faculties and the scholars of CTIPS for their constant progressive efforts in the field of Pharmacy and Biotechnology. He also assured of providing excellent research facilities on behalf of management and motivated the audience through his inspirational talks.
The objective of the seminar was to make all the delegates aware about advanced academic research, practical insights of industry and the latest developments in Networking between Industry-Institute and Industry.
The first session was started with presentation of Dr. V.B. Gupta, President Drug Discovery Network, who discussed at vast on developing research methodologies and coordinating it between others professionals for purposeful and objective oriented research. Dr. Gupta interacted with participants, scholars and helped resolving their queries regarding taking up of research projects. The seminar was further followed by the presentation given by Dr. R.A.S.Naidu, a learned and experienced pharmaceutical professional from different pharmaceutical industries like Ranbaxy, Cadila, Natco, Sunpharma, Medley etc.and at present functioning as director, for Drug Discovery Network. He highlighted the practical aspect of networking in the drug research and also focused on the need of industrial and academic collaboration. The seminar was further discussed on the aspect of intellectual property rights and the procedural for filing applications for patent.
All the eminent speakers enlighten the minds of delegates with their broad vision and innovative ideas.
The seminar was also enriches with the poster presentation session on the latest advancements in pharmaceutical and biotechnology research which was evaluated by the constituted scientific committee and the best three were awarded with trophies. About 300 faculties, scholars and students from different pharmacy institutes and industry participated declared this seminar to be very innovative that has really provided a way to their knowledge.
