“6th S. Manjit Kaur Memorial Annual Inter CT Athletic Meet” was organized in CT Group of Institutions’ Shahpur Campus. Players of seven different colleges enthusiastically participated in this event. 100 M, 200 M, 400 M, 800 M, 1500 M race, Short put, Discus Throw, Long Jump and Javelin Throw, 4*100 M Relay and 4*400 M Relay etc were some of the important events of this meet. All the participants showed their keen interest and enthusiasm in all the events.
Renowned Olympic Player Mr. Gagan Ajit Singh inaugurated Athletic Meet as a Chief Guest. Gagan Ajit Singh is an Indian Hockey player and an efficient striker on the field. He is the son of Ajit Singh, the veteran Indian Hockey player who represented the Indian Hockey team at Munich Olympic Games 1972 and Montreal Olympic Games 1976. The uncle of Gagan, Harmik Singh has also been an Indian Hockey player and also the Captain of the Indian Hockey team in the past.
March Past and Oath taking Ceremony were followed by the inauguration.
Abhishek in men’s category and Rajdeep Kaur in women’s category were awarded best athletes.
The award of overall good performance was given to CT Institute of Technology.
The winners were awarded medals by the Chief Guest. He said that this endeavor of CT Group is very commendable and we should encourage our students to take part in games also.
On this occasion Chairman CT Group S.Charanjit Singh Channi gave Memento to the Chief Guest and congratulated the winners. He said that CT Group has always tried to provide quality education to its students as well as good opportunities to become good players by organizing Athletic Meet annually.
