About Jalandhar (Pb.)
Jalandhar, another name of Lord Shiva is located on the intensively irrigated plain between the Beas and Sutlej rivers. The city, which has major road and rail connections, is a world renowned hub of manufacture of sports goods besides a centralized market for agricultural products. Other manufactures include textiles, leather goods, wood products, pipe fittings and  hand tools. Jalandhar was the capital of Punjab from India's independence (1947) until Chandigarh was built in 1953.Jalandhar is situated at 710 31’ East and 300 33’ North at a distance of 146 kms from state capital Chandigarh. It is at a distance of 350 Kms from Delhi on Delhi-Amritsar Highway. It is well connected by road and train. Nearest Airport is RajaSansi Airport, Amritsar at a distance of 90 kms.

These departments have good infrastructure to run the Master degree programmes. These departments have good interaction with industry and the educational institutes including PTU Jalandhar, NIT Jalandhar, Thapar University Patiala, PEC Chandigarh, Punjabi University Patiala, PAU Ludhiana, GNE Ludhiana, GNDU Amritsar, NIT Hamirpur, IITD, JNU, MDU, etc.

So, the technical qualified students, acquiring generic skills is a must for getting appropriate placements. Generic skills refer to transferable skills, employability or life skills which contribute to life-long learning and management. They describe non-technical competencies that have always been an important part for effective and successful performance at the workplaces. Enterprises are increasingly asking for Generic Skills, and as a result the students must be able to demonstrate these skills in their personality. The use and popularity of concepts of developing generic skills has increased around the world. They seek to establish the basis for recognizing an important set of skills which support the successful accomplishment of the task-based activities, which is central to any job role.

Rules & Regulations

1.    Last date for the submission of registration is 10th Dec., 2011.
2.    The participants may be faculty members from any discipline.
3.    Each registration form should be forwarded by the concerned Principal/HoD. No direct form will be entertained.
4.    Participant must bring his/her college identity card at the time of STTP.
5.    Entries must be sent via email (scanned copy of registration form) at fdp@ctgroup.in or hard copy to the convener or you may also Register Online @ www.ctgroup.in
6.    Participation and attendance in all the sessions is mandatory.
7.    Registration fee is NIL for Govt. colleges and Govt.-aided colleges and AICTE Approved Institutions.
8.    Accommodation (hostel facility) will be provided for Rs. 100 per day, which is free for the Govt. and Govt.-aided colleges.
9.    Payments can be made through demand draft drawn in favour of "Director, NITTTR, Chandigarh”.
