CT Group organizes National Seminar on 'Innovative Perspectives
in Profession of Pharmacy and Biotechnology'
 
A one day National seminar on 'INNOVATIVE PERSPECTIVES IN PROFESSION OF PHARMACY AND BIOTECHNOLOGY' was conducted by CT Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (CTIPS), Jalandhar. Around 250 delegates comprising of academic stalwarts, teachers, research scholars, post graduate and graduate students from various institutes participated in this seminar.



The event was inaugurated with traditional lighting of lamp and Saraswati Vandana followed by presidential address by Sh. Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman CT Group of Institutions. Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma, Director CTIPS addressed the gathering informing them about the objectives of the seminar. He further added that the main purpose of the conclave was to promote and acknowledge innovation in the respective field.

Prof. Bhupinder Singh Bhoop, Dean, Punjab University Chandigarh and Prof. A.N. Kalia, Head of Department, ISF, Moga briefed regarding recent trends in the fields of pharmacy and biotechnology. Prof. Bhupinder Singh Bhoop started the technical session and enlightened the gathering about the Newer Trends in Drug Delivery Developments and the scope of medicinal chemistry in Pharmacy.



Another presentation on Herbal Drug Formulation and Development was given by Prof. A.N. Kalia with a detailed discussion on scope of Pharmacognosy in pharmacy profession. In addition to it, the second technical session included a presentation on Pharmaco vigilance in
India by Dr. Manoj Sharma from Panacea Biotech Pvt. Ltd. He also threw light on the scope of Industries in Pharmacy and Biotechnology profession. A presentation on Perspectives of Nanobiotechnology was given by Dr. Gurpreet Singh from Lyalpur Khalsa College Jalandhar and the scope of Biotechnology as a Profession was discussed.



The seminar comprised of Poster making Competition apart from the guest lectures. About 50 Posters were presented by students from all colleges across
Punjab. The best adjudged 3 posters were of Raminderjit Kaur from B. pharmacy 4th semester, Harmanpreet Kaur, ASPASJSS Bela and Shivani Thakur, B.Sc. Biotech and these students were awarded with the mementoes. The conclave came out to be a great success. The seminar concluded with a motivational address from Dr. Manoj Kumar, Group Director CT Group of Institutions followed by Vote of Thanks by Prof. Vinod Sharma Principal CTIPS.



S. Charanjit Singh Channi, Chairman, CT Group of Institutions expressed his gratitude to all the participants and the guests for being a part of the seminar  and sharing their thoughts and wisdom.
